Something was writing the world, and stopped. What remains is this archive — nine folios of the world's unfinished documentation, descending from the surface to the page that was never written on.

You may only descend in order. Each folio you unseal opens the one beneath it — and disturbs the ones above. The deeper you read, the more the archive erodes. This is not a flaw in the document. It is the document.
